Dunena Ko’honete Ko - Mission Statement
(Taking care of children house)
Dunena Ko’honete Ko strives to provide quality early childhood education to the children of Mayo. We are dedicated to supporting each child’s cultural background by working closely with the families and developing our programs to fit each individual’s need.
Dunena Ko’honete Ko daycare strives to provide a safe, happy, stimulating and loving environment that is convenient to your home or place of employment. We work to make each day a happy learning experience for your child by including opportunities for interactive and social play, reading groups, and arts and crafts.
The First Nation supported the community by opening a daycare service to all the community members; it has been in operation since February 13, 2007. The Daycare operates under the YTG Child Care regulations.
Apryl Olsen has been hired as the Daycare Coordinator. They offer services from 8:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M for working parents. Subsidy application forms are available at the Daycare.
The Daycare has a committee established to assist with the operations of the facilities and policy development.
